The Six Dynasties refer to the Wu Dynasty, the Eastern Jin Dynasty and the song, Qi, Liang and Chen dynasties of the Southern Dynasties, which established Jiankang (now Nanjing) as the capital in Chinese history from the 3rd to the 6th century A.D. During this period, Jiankang city was magnificent, densely populated, highly prosperous in handicraft industry and commerce, reaching an unprecedented height in urban construction, economic development, cultural inheritance and innovation, and becoming a world-famous oriental metropolis.

"All things are of the same origin and coexist harmoniously". In the big home of nature, people and all things in nature are interdependent and inseparable. From ancient times to the present, the relationship between man and other animals has experienced different stages, from fear and confrontation to curiosity and exploration, and then to interdependence and harmonious coexistence, which reflects the simple ecological wisdom of ancient China and provides rich historical resources for the ecological civilization of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.

More than 110 pieces of pottery, gold and other cultural relics unearthed in Nanjing were exhibited in this exhibition. The theme of this exhibition is "life", "beauty" and "spirit", showing the harmonious coexistence between people and animals during the Six Dynasties.
